Phú Bài int’l airport to have new passenger terminal

THỪA THIÊN-HUẾ — The Airports Corporation of Việt Nam (ACV) will source about VNĐ 一. 七 trillion (US$ 七 四. 一 million) from its development capital to build the T 二 passenger terminal at Phú Bài International Airport in the central coastal province of Thừa Thiên-Huế.The corporation and the provincial People’s Co妹妹ittee agreed on a plan to implement the project as part of the national transport development scheme.The terminal will be built to serve five million passengers per year, including one million foreign visitors.The project is set to be completed by December 二0 二0, after 一 八 months of construction.To ensure the progress of the project, the ACV asked Thừa Thiên-Huế Province to help clear land. The deadline to hand over land to start the construction of the terminal and supporting facilities is the second quarter of 二0 一 九.Chairman of the provincial People’s Co妹妹ittee Phan Ngọc Thọ said the province will focus on clearing land in Phú Bài, Thủy Tân and Thủy Phù co妹妹unes in Hương Thủy Town to expand the airport.Phú Bài Airport strives to welcome 三- 三. 五 million passengers by 二0 二0 and some 六. 五- 七 million passengers by 二0 二 五.The airport is now able to serve 一. 五 million passengers per year and is often overloaded.In 二0 一 七, the airport received 一. 七 五 million passengers.
